THE STORY BEHIND THE DARK WARLORDS' (MASHO) ARMORS!

I took it upon myself to create this page... after all, something about the Dark Warlord's armors bothered me a quite a bit. The armors seem to have an uncanny resemblance to their respective titles. It's a little obvious.. though if you take note of Dais' (Rajura) armor which has a spider appearance and is titled "The Spider's armor." There's more than that to the armors, in fact, there's a rather interesting story on the armors!!
Also, the Masho were named after the demons/gods. Sunrise did a really interesting work on the Masho! It was missed in the American version... (too much cool stuff were either missed or screwed up......) Plus, the armors seem to be based off of normal fears: demons/ghosts, spiders, wolves/jackal, and snakes.

First.... Anubis' (Shuten) Ogre armor... There's a really interesting story behind this. I discovered this in my "Great Works of Japanese Graphic Art" book I got on my birthday. On the first picture, I gasped in shock and almost passed out. *Swooning* The title caught my eye easily because there it was in bold letters... "SHUTEN-DOJI" and I was reading the paragraph next to the picture. Apparently....
The Ogre Shuten-Doji... how many of you people have known about the symbol for Anubis' armor which has a horned demon's head with long hair???? In fact, this Ogre Shuten-Doji has horns and long hair. (And its appearance is something you definitely do not want to see in the light of the day!) This Ogre was the enemy of a hero named Raiko. I don't know much about this stuff but I'm pretty sure you can figure it out on your own. It would be helpful if anyone has a book on Japanese legends. (IN MY OWN STUPID OPTION, I would rather die from seeing that pic instead of Brian's pix. Uh... wait... *puts tape over fingers.....)


Next, Cale's (Anubis (Please, I'm too confused as it is!!)) Jackal Armor... If anyone is familiar with Egyptian gods, Cale's armor is said to have been possessed by the Egyptian god of Death.
Which is pretty much true since he is a direct opposite of Sage... (Death vs Life).


Then, Dais' (Rajura) Spider Armor... There's a spider god named Rajura.. that's pretty much I can figure out.


Finally, Sekhmet's (Naza) Snake Armor... Only information I have about this... there's a snake god named Naza. BUT THE INTERESTING THING.... his american dub name belongs to an Egyptian Lion-headed GodDESS!! (yes, this is a female name. Don't ask. I'm lost already on this.)


Sorry for the lack of information on the last two but I did not have the proper resources. I only had two resources with me about the Ogre and the Egyptian Gods. HEH. If anyone has more information... help.
